Gutenberg Text Reformatting Tool

Gutenberg.org makes a lot of great public-domain books available, and I love them for it. But the way they format the texts (adding line breaks within paragraphs to force a fixed page-width, for instance) can make them unsuitable for some purposes. (Those added line breaks confuse our “What percentage of your story is dialog?” tool, for instance.)

So, I created another tool to quickly re-format text of this type.

Instructions

Paste the text from Gutenberg’s Plain Text option into the box below, and click Convert. The text will be replaced with a reformatted version.
